The West Platte Blue Diamonds provide support and spirit for West Platte athletic teams through the art of dance.

The goal for the Blue Diamonds pom squad is to promote spirit, support, and service for West Platte High School athletics and the entire West Platte community. They perform at all home varsity boys football and basketball games.

Blue Diamonds members are elected for the purpose of supporting athletic teams and competitions. Blue Diamonds members demonstrate good citizenship and moral standards, and assume responsibility for developing school spirit.

Members must be in grades 9-12 and meet academic criteria as outlined in the athletic handbook.

The Blue Diamonds practice on Monday and Thursday mornings at 6:15-7:30 and Tuesday mornings at 6:45-7:30.

The Blue Diamonds attend UDA/NDA summer camp each year. The squad also hosts a mini-clinic for elementary-aged dancers in the fall/winter, and march in the Homecoming & Apple Fest parades. Historically, the squad also competes at the regional and state levels.
