FFA bannerThis week twelve agriculture/FFA students competed in the Northwest District CDE's, on campus, at Northwest Missouri State University.

This year was a first for the West Platte Agriculture Department, a District CDE Champion team! The soils team beat 16 other district schools to capture the district title. Liza Suarez was also the individual champion of the contest, Julian Trelow finished 3rd, Conner Bolch finished in 11th place and Hannah Kleman came in 29th place.

The dairy foods team, which consisted of Sage Lewis, Katie Groom, Hailey Shepardson, and Mikaela Wendorff, finished 10th out of 29 teams and just a few points away from qualifying for the state contest in Columbia. This is quite the accomplishment for an all freshman CDE team.

The meats team finished 11th out of 23 teams which is good enough to be the alternate team to the state contest. Members of the team were Taylor McNair, Wyatt Kleman, Ally Santo, and Mallory Chambers.

Congratulations to all students for their accomplishments.
