Students in grades 9-12 participate in band; provide spirit, enthusiasm, and music at school and community events.
Mission: The mission of the West Platte Band Program is to: promote enthusiastic attitudes, responsible behavior, and self-discipline; strive for excellence in preparation and performance; consistently progress toward the mastery of musical fundamentals; and uphold the traditions of the Marching Blue Jays with pride and honor.
Meetings: Band is a co-curricular activity and students meet 1st hour of school. The Marching Blue Jays perform at all home football games, most home basketball games, community events, and music festivals around the region.
Participation: In order for students to participate, they must be enrolled in band.
Activities: Students attend band camp the first week of August and participate in various events which are listed on the calendar.
Dues: No fees. Uniform requirements: Band Polo $20, Black Marching Shoes $32.95.
