The mission of the West Platte Cheerleaders is to support our athletes and show positive character in being spirit leaders for our school. The cheerleaders practice once a week, cheer at every football game, and cheer at most girls and boys basketball games.
To become a cheerleader, students must be in grades 9-12 and meet academic criteria as outlined in the athletic handbook. Cheerleaders may pay around $150 for yearly uniform accessories.
Twice a year the cheerleaders hold mini-clinics for our little jays. During the winter sports season cheerleaders host the annual Hoops For Hope fundraiser.
