The Platte County Sheriff’s Office hosted its first annual Junior Sheriff’s Academy for West Platte students. The Junior Sheriff’s Academy is a week-long summer program exposing students to various aspects of law enforcement featuring hands-on learning. Throughout the week, cadets learn from road officers, detectives, and special teams. Cadets participated in car stops, crime scene investigation, physical training, case law, and team building. The curriculum for the Academy is aimed to inspire students’ interest and understanding of law enforcement.
